Military confrontations stop educational process in Shabwa schools

SHABWA, Sept. 25 (YPA) – Military confrontations between UAE-backed “Shabwa Defense” forces and Al-Qaeda-linked elements in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, have halted the educational process in several schools.

Local sources reported the confrontations began on Monday morning with a military operation against Al-Qaeda members in Al-Musaina’h area, following a bombing that killed four soldiers.

The suspension of classes in several schools was announced until further notice.

On September 13, an educational official in Shabwa was assassinated by gunmen near a military point of the “Shabwa Defense” factions in the city of Ataq.
