Deployment of military forces sparks armed clashes in Aden

ADEN, Sept. 24 (YPA) – The deployment of military vehicles in the Khor Maksar area of Aden city, south of Yemen, to plunder the disputed land, sparked on Sunday armed clashes in the area.

Local sources said that light and medium weapons were used in the vicinity of the “Al-Safu” station in Khor Maksar, before armored vehicles had intervened on behalf of one of the parties to the conflict.

The sources stated that clashes happened among the two groups affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) backed by the UAE.

The people of the area were experiencing a state of anxiety as a result of the continued tension between armed groups, the sources added.

The city of Aden is witnessing an increasing state of security chaos and killing, which has reached the point where citizens demand international intervention to save the city from the dominance of armed gangs and security chaos.
