SANAA, Sept. 23 (YPA) – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter Scale struck the southeastern Turkish state of Kahraman Marash on Saturday.
The presidency of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) said in a statement on its website that the earthquake was recorded in Gukson region of the state at 11.22 and its epicenter occurred at a depth of about 8.48 kilometers underground.
Kahraman Marash was one of the most affected areas by the violent earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria last February, leaving tens of thousands of people dead and massive destruction.
