Islah Party media outlets continues to obscure American role in Yemen

SANAA, Sept. 21 (YPA) – Yemen’s Islah Party leadership is trying to give a layer of illusion to the American role in Yemen by claiming that the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) is being marginalized by the United States.

Mukhtar Al-Rahbi, a leader of the Islah Party, said on the “X” platform, “Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the head of the STC, is selling an illusion to people, and the US Secretary of State ignores the presence of Aidarous among the delegation, and the official website of the US State Department cuts out Aidarous’ picture from the audience.

However, the truth, according to observers, confirmed that the United States is showing encouraging positions for the STC calling for separation in Yemen, as evidenced by the fact that Al-Zubaidi, the only member of the eight-member “Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), led by Rashad al-Alimi,” who participated in the delegation of the coalition-backed government at the United Nations General Assembly’s meeting.

He participated in the meeting held by Al-Alimi with the US Secretary of State in Washington. The description that was given to Aidarous Al-Zubaidi during his participation in the delegation as a “member of the PLC” does not seem to be able to cover up the most important status that Al-Zubaidi has as head of the STC.

It seems that the Islah Party is obfuscating the American role in Yemen, with the “STC” and showing American concern for the unity of Yemen, knowing that Washington’s practices towards Yemen are the opposite.

Previously, the American envoy, Leander King, has revealed more than a statement that his country does not oppose the secessionist efforts adopted by the STC militias with the support of the coalition countries.

As American and British media outlets launched a propaganda campaign last May, during which the issue of secession in Yemen was marketed as an objective condition for peace in Yemen, the campaign that coincided with a high level of optimism regarding the possibility of signing a peace agreement between Sanaa and Riyadh.

While we cannot forget the role that Riyadh played before the UAE in creating the STC from scratch after the coalition took control of Aden city, south of Yemen, and granting it a role greater than its real size in order to move Yemen towards division, which turned out to be nothing more than the implementation of American-British agendas in Yemen.

On its basis, it is not possible to describe “the marginalization of Aidarous Al-Zubaidi by Washington” as a victory for the Islah Party, knowing that American policies do not need to celebrate people as much as they care about implementing their plan, and any attempt to deal with “the marginalization of Al-Zubaidi by the Americans” as a victory for Yemen represents a mistake strategically, which may contribute to helping the United States divide Yemen.
