Meteorology warns against heat wave in desert areas in coming hours

SANAA, Sept. 21 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expects hot conditions in deserts and inland plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between 38-42 degrees Celsius.

The center said, in its weather bulletin on Thursday, that active to strong winds is likely around the Socotra Archipelago, the southern coasts, and the Gulf of Aden, ranging its speeds between 21-32 knots.

It also expected rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, on Hadramout and parts of Lahj, Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Rayma, Hajjah, Mahweet, Saada, and Amran, and scattered rain on parts of Mahra, Shabwa, Abyan, Bayda, Dhamar, and Sanaa province.

The center advised citizens not to be directly exposed to sunlight for a long period in areas expected to witness hot to very hot weather.
