Meteorology Center expects scattered rain, high temperatures
SANAA, Sept. 06 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology on Wednesday expected varying rains with thunderstorms in parts of several provinces, and high temperatures in coastal and desert areas during the next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin, the center expected rains of varying intensity, accompanied by hail at times, in parts of the provinces of Mahweet, Dhamar, Rayma, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, and Bayda.
Scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are expected to fall in parts of the provinces of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Sanaa, and the Abyan and Shabwa highlands, and scattered rains in parts of the western coasts and the Tihama Plain.
According to the center, the weather may be hot to very hot in the deserts and inland plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between 38-43 degrees Celsius, and hot and humid in the coastal areas and plains and the Socotra Archipelago, with maximum temperatures ranging between 33-39 degrees Celsius.
The center warned citizens against being in the depths of valleys and flood paths, against thunderstorms in rainfall areas, and against exposure to direct sunlight. It also advised them to drink plenty of fluids.
It called on fishermen and seagoers to take the necessary precautions against sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra archipelago, the southern and eastern coasts, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
