Attempt of detonating closed hall failed in Lahj

LAHJ, Sept. 05 (YPA) – Unknown persons planted a high-explosive device near the closed hall in the city of al-Houta in Lahj governorate of southern Yemen, with the aim of targeting a prominent security leader.

Local residents reported on social media platforms that a number of school students found an explosive device near the house of one of the security leaders of “al-Hawta” area near the closed gym.

Residents explained that the homemade explosive device was planted in a plastic tube, and includes high-explosive materials, a remote control and two tasers for remote detonation.

The target’s Security Identity has not been disclosed by the residents and the competent authorities, for unknown reasons.
