Parliament affirms Yemen’s solidarity with Niger’s people, their legitimate right to self-determination
SANAA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – The Yemeni Parliament affirmed on Thursday the solidarity of the Republic of Yemen, as parliament, government, and people, with the people of Niger and their legitimate right to self-determination and freedom from foreign tutelage and domination.
In a statement issued today, the Parliament condemned the Western intervention and the European-American attack on the people of Niger, expressing its solidarity with the Nigerien people against any foreign military intervention that undermines their freedom and independence.
The parliament praised the sacrifices of the people of Niger in order to gain their freedom and independence, calling on parliaments, states, and free peoples to show solidarity and stand by Niger’s people.
The statement stressed that the countries of colonialism, domination, and arrogance, including America, Britain, and France, must comprehend the lessons that the era of colonialism and guardianship over peoples has ended irreversibly.
In its statement, the Yemeni parliament also called on the international community to respect peoples’ rights to self-determination, respect their sovereignty and will, and not interfere in their internal affairs.
