UAE-run military delegation’s visit to Marib sparks Islah factions

MARIB, Aug. 28 (YPA) – A high-ranking military delegation belonging to the UAE-backed Tariq Saleh” factions arrived on Monday in the city of Marib, the last stronghold of the Islah factions in northern Yemen.

Local media reported that the delegation led by “Sadiq Dwaid,” the spokesman of the so-called the National Resistance and a member of the Joint Command on the West Coast, along with “Yahya al-Eizari,” the head of the so-called Military Operations Department at the Ministry of Defense, visited the headquarters of the 72nd Infantry Brigade of the Seventh Military Region and the various sites in Marib.

This visit came amid accusations by the Islah Party of the UAE-run factions, led by “Saghir bin Aziz” and “Tariq Saleh,” of working to overthrow the two remaining districts that the coalition take over in Marib, in particular the oil fields in Safer.

On August 13, armed factions led by Saleh Tariq had sent huge military reinforcements, with various types of military equipment and weapons, from Mocha to Marib.

The sources affirmed that the movement of those forces came on the directives of the “Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council, headed by Rashad al-Alimi.

In the first response from Islah Party to Sadiq Dwaid’s visit to Marib, “Saif Al-Hadari,” an editor-in-chief of “Akhbar Al-Youm,” said in his post on X platform that the exaggerated celebration of Sadiq Dwaid’s visit to Marib province is unjustified and provocative.
