Emergency reaction plans for flood damage in Hodeida discussed

HODEIDA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – A meeting in Hodeida province on Monday, chaired by the First Undersecretary of the province, Ahmed Al-Bishri, discussed the matrix of the emergency intervention plan to confront flood damage in the province during the rainy seasons.

The tasks and responsibilities of each concerned party in the field through the preparation of maps of risks, rescue, ambulance, evacuation, shelter, humanitarian and relief interventions, maintenance, repair and opening of roads and streets were reviewed in the meeting.

The meeting touched on a plan for maintaining water barriers, cleaning water culverts, constructing towers to protect against lightning strikes, and benefiting from weather information, forecasts, and early warning bulletins.

Preparations and readiness for interventions in the event of any natural disasters as a result of torrential rains were also discussed.
