President stresses firming up local authority’s supervisory role

SANAA, July 5 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, on Thursday stressed the importance of enhancing the local authority’s supervisory role, as well as developing and collecting revenues.

The president discussed, in a meeting with Minister of Local Administration, Ali bin Ali al-Qaisi, the functioning of the Local Administration Ministry and difficulties facing it.
In the meeting, the president urged the ministry’s leadership to exert more efforts to enhance the local authority performance.

The meeting touched on the efforts to strengthen the local authorities’ role to contribute to mitigating the suffering of citizens, especially in light of the current conditions the country is going through due to the continued aggression and siege.
