HADRAMOUT, Aug. 26 (YPA) – A number of political forces Hadramout’ province have failed to agree on holding a founding conference for the local government council in the province, which is supported by Saudi Arabia.
Media sources reported that disagreements between the UAE-backed governor of the province, Mabkhout bin Madhi, and the Islah Party, which is being pushed through Saudi-funded Saleh bin Hariz al-Marri, were the reason behind the failure to set a date for holding the constituent conference of the council.
The sources indicated that Bin Madi trying to bring the council under UAE-funded factions control, while Al-Marri’s attempt to strengthen the grip of Islah Party.
The authority of Hadramout in the Wadi and Coast is being run by the two parties.
