Saudi forces raises state of maximum alert inside Aden Maashiq Palace

ADEN, Aug. 23 (YPA) – The Saudi forces raised the state of maximum alert inside the Maashiq Palace, which the coalition-backed government takes as its headquarters in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matter said, “The leadership of the Saudi forces at Ma’ashiq Palace also tightened security at the various gates of the palace, in conjunction with the expansion of the angry protests in the different areas of Aden to condemn the collapse of the service situation in the city.

The sources added that the Saudi forces conducted a number of naval patrols near the Palace, in anticipation of any attacks that may be launched by loyalists of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), with the growing popular discontent calling for the expulsion of the coalition and allied government.

The Crater area is witnessing an active movement of military patrols deployed in the vicinity of the palace and the main streets of the area.

This comes after Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the Saudi-formed “Presidential Leadership Council”, suddenly left his residence in the city of Al-Ghaydah in Mahra province, following the heavy flight of American and British drones over the city.
