Formation of joint committee to develop Hodeida port approved

HODEIDA, Aug. 20 (YPA) – Minister of Industry in the government of Sanaa, Abdul Wahhab Al-Dorra, approved the formation of a joint committee to develop Hodeida port in order to facilitate the commercial movement of ships and containers.

In a meeting, the minister stressed the need to provide all facilities to merchants in the ports, which were subjected to the worst aerial bombardment and economic blockade, in light of the shameful international silence.

He called again to stop the inspection mechanism in the port of Djibouti, which leads to higher costs for goods and foodstuffs, which negatively affects citizens.
Al-Dorra demanded the United Nations to reduce marine insurance inclusively in all ports of the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting discussed solutions to reduce insurance fees and maritime on commercial ships and tariffs for services provided by shipping companies in line with the current conditions for operating the port of Hodeida and providing facilities for shipments.
