SANAA, Aug. 20 (YPA) – Director of Sanaa International Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, confirmed on Sunday that travelers are suffering greatly, especially patients, due to the reduction of flights from 6 to 3 per week.
Al-Shayef indicated in a news statement that many patients who traveled for treatment abroad are still stranded due to the great pressure on flights.
“Opening 5 destinations and operating daily flights is the minimum to alleviate the suffering of travelers,” he added.” Medicines and medical supplies, until today, are prohibited from entering through Sanaa Airport.”
Al-Shayef was surprised by the international silence regarding preventing the entry of medicines through Sanaa Airport, despite the urgent needs.
“The humanitarian aid that arrives is not specific to incurable diseases, and its arrival comes after a delay in other airports,” he stated.
He confirmed the readiness of Sana’a International Airport to receive flights exceeding 10 flights per day.
