Thunderbolts claim life of child in Hajjah

HAJJAH, Aug. 20 (YPA) – A nine-year-old child was killed on Sunday when a thunderbolt struck a house in Aslam district of Hajjah province, northwestern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources added that the thunderbolt also caused damage to the residents’ property in the area.

Since last March, more than 150 people have died or been injured as a result of thunderbolts in several provinces of the country, according to the Yemeni Red Crescent Society.
