Iran’s Revolutionary Guard: “US Navy obeys our laws to cross Gulf”

TEHRAN, Aug. 20 (YPA) – The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ Navy, Brigadier General Ali Reza Tangsiri, said on Saturday that his forces are now in control of the Gulf, stressing accordingly that US ships and naval vessels are now subject to Iranian laws while crossing the Gulf.

This came during a speech delivered by Tungsiri to the leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, according to the Iranian news agency “Fares”.

Tungsiri stated that one of the instructions of the Iranian guide, Ali Khamenei, was to build a navy at the level of the Iranian revolution, and this was only possible through control of the “Persian Gulf”.

He added, “We did that, and today we took control of the Persian Gulf. Even when US aircraft carriers and helicopters cross the Gulf, they abide by our laws.”

Referring to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy said, “NATO countries were not respecting the laws of our waterway, but today they are yielding to our warnings.”

These Iranian statements come after the United States recently brought in F-16 and F-35 fighters and naval vessels to the Gulf and the Strait, in an effort to monitor the vital waterways in the region and confront Iran’s threats.

Tungsiri stated that the navy, whose activities are concentrated in the Gulf and the Sea of Oman, “has types of combat, reconnaissance, and offensive drones.”

He added that the Guards Navy increased the speed of its speedboats to 110 knots and was able to install and operate missile launchers on 8-meter fast vessels. “We are the first country in the Middle East to manufacture a ship on which drones can be launched.”
