Public auction in “Israel” presents rare Yemeni antiquities for sale
SANAA, Aug. 17 (YPA) – The Yemeni researcher who specializes in tracing the looted antiquities of Yemen, Abdullah Mohsen, revealed on Thursday a public auction in Tel Aviv on October 2 to sell rare Yemeni artifacts.
Mohsen said that the auction featured many antiquities from Yemen, and among the exhibits was a bronze painting from which the faces of two handsome young men stand out. “The painting is probably from Tamnu, Al-Awd, or Dhafar (referring to areas of ancient Yemeni civilization).”
He stated that the details of the exhibits and their source have not been announced yet. “However, the prominent word (three letters in old Yemeni Musnad script) can be read at the bottom of the Yemeni artifact painting offered for sale,” he added.
