Israeli occupation forces storm eastern Nablus

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Aug 16 (YPA) – Violent clashes broke out last ight between Palestinian resistance fighters and Israeli occupation forces that stormed the eastern area of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

According to eyewitnesses, large forces of the enemy army stormed the eastern region through the Beit Furik military checkpoint, accompanied by two bulldozers, to secure the settlers’ incursion into the Yusuf shrine.

The witnesses stated that dozens of citizens were suffocated after the enemy forces fired after inhaling tear gas. Moreover, the occupation forces closed Amman Street leading in to Nablus from Joseph’s Tomb area, with mounds of dirt.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces shot and detained a Palestinian youth near the military checkpoint of Huwara, south of the occupied city of Nablus.

According to Ahmed Jibril, the Nablus director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society Ambulance and Emergency Center, at least 30 people sustained inhalation injuries, and one young man was shot in the head with a tear gas canister.

Jibril added that soldiers blocked ambulance crews from reaching a home to evacuate those inside whose home was targeted with tear gas.
