SANAA, Aug 12 (YPA) – Sanaa’s government denounced on Saturday the US’s massive military presence off the Yemeni coasts and Bab al-Mandab, which represents a lifeline for the world economy.
During its regular meeting headed on Saturday by Prime Minister Abdel-Aziz bin Habtour, the government’s members considered the presence of US forces in the coasts and territorial waters of the Republic of Yemen and some military bases as a hostile act that would have catastrophic effects on the region and the world.
“This presence is a result of the aggressive war and the blockade of the United States of America on the Yemeni people from March 2015 so far, which threatens the security and safety of maritime navigation,” the government added.
It affirmed that the armed forces represented by the naval forces are ready to deal with that presence, which targets the Yemeni sovereignty and contradicts international laws, warning of any aggressive act targeting Yemen’s coasts and territorial waters and the security and safety of the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The meeting pointed out that the pretexts promoted by the United States about its military presence in this strategic region are pure lies and fraud on world public opinion.
It affirmed that Yemen has sufficient capabilities to secure maritime navigation through Bab al-Mandab, as well as its coasts, islands and territorial waters, and to deal decisively in confronting terrorism and terrorists.
