DHALEA, Aug. 08 (YPA) – Dozens of citizens demonstrated on Monday against the corruption of officials of the authorities affiliated with the “Presidential Leadership Council” and the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Dhalea province in southern Yemen.
The protesters carried banners calling for the eradication of corruption, which they described as a “monster”.
They called for an end to corruption and fundamental reforms in state institutions under the control of the pro-coalition government.
The participants in the demonstration explained that the province is suffering from the collapse of the economy, security, and services.
Dhalea and the rest of the provinces under the control of the coalition and the government loyal to it have been witnessing, from time to time, popular outbursts of anger, condemning the collapse of the local currency and all basic services and the rise in prices, since the coalition took control of the province on June 6, 2015.
