Pro-coalition leader escapes assassination attempt in Marib

MARIB, Aug 05 (YPA) – One of the leaders of the pro-coalition Islah Party in Marib survived an assassination attempt in Marib province, which is located 173 kilometers to the northeast of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa.

Local sources in the province that an explosive device exploded a military vehicle belonging to the Party’s leader, Fahd Saleh Taiman al-Jahmi, near his house in al-Jaishyah area of Wadi Abaidah.

The sources pointed out that the device was planted in the military vehicle that led to destroying it.

This came in light of the escalating conflict between the leaders of the pro-coalition factions.

Wadi Abaidah tribes have various medium and heavy weapons with the support of the coalition to fuel the conflicts between the tribes, in addition to the spread of al-Qaeda elements that are fighting in the ranks of the coalition.
