Protesters cut off road linking Lahj, Taiz

LAHJ, Aug. 05 (YPA) – Protesters stopped on Saturday heavy transport traffic on the alternative road linking Lahj and Taiz governorates to demand the speedy maintenance of the road, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources said that the people of Najishiya area in al-Maqatira district complain of the escalation of dust flying from the road to their homes and accumulating it inside, which led to the spread of respiratory diseases among them significantly.

In addition, a statement issued by the transport vehicle drivers’ union of Hejjat al-Abd and al-Turba road, calling on drivers of heavy transport trucks not to walk on this road starting on Saturday until its maintenance is completed.
