Israeli occupation forces launch campaign of raids, arrests in West Bank

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 30 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces launched on Sunday a campaign of raids  and arrests against  a number of Palestinians, including leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, in the occupied West Bank.

According to institutions concerned with prisoners’ affairs, the occupation forces arrested a number of Palestinians, who were transferred for investigation to the security services of the occupation, under the pretext of participating in popular resistance actions.

The occupation forces arrested a young man from Tulkarm refugee camp after they raided the town of Bal’a, east of the city.

Clashes erupted between the youths and the Israeli occupation soldiers after they stormed the town, during which the soldiers fired live bullets, stun grenades and tear gas, but no injuries were reported.

In Jenin governorate, the occupying forces arrested two young men from Jaba’ town, south of the city and  stormed the towns of Jalboun and Fahma, intensified their military presence and erected checkpoints.

The Israeli occupation forces arrested senior officials from Islamic Jihad and Hamas in Jaba’ village.

In a related context, the Israeli occupation forces raided the towns of Jalboun and Fahma, intensified their military presence and erected checkpoints in the vicinity of the towns of Ya`bad and Arabeh.

Institutions concerned with prisoners’ affairs monitored 3,866 arrests carried out by the occupation forces in the West Bank and Jerusalem during the first half of this year, including 568 children and 72 women.
