ADEN, July 26 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) continued on Wednesday to prevent the group of parliamentarians loyal to the Saudi-led coalition from meeting in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, media sources reported.
The “Hona Aden” website said that Sultan Al-Barakan, head of the pro-coalition parliamentarians group, confirmed in his response to a letter sent by the parliamentarian, Muhammad Muqbil al-Hamyari, the failure of the continuous efforts to hold a meeting of pro-coalition parliamentarians in Aden.
According to the website, Al-Barakani stated in his July 20 reply that tickets and accommodations were reserved for pro-coalition legislators in Aden in August of last year, but the meeting was canceled.
Al-Barakani pointed out that all the appointments that were set later were cancelled, and the last date was set on June 9, during the legislators group’s visits to Riyadh and its meeting with the president of the “Presidential Council” loyal to the coalition, Rashad al-Alimi.
In April last year, the pro-coalition legislators failed to hold a meeting in Sayoun city of Hadramout province due to the obstruction of the STC, which still obstructs any meetings of them to this day.
