TAIZ, July 25 (YPA) -There is growing corruption in local authorities loyal to Saudi-led coalition forces in Taiz, exploiting citizens’ need for electricity by selling it at the price of 1,000 riyal per kilowatt, media sources reported on Monday.
Journalist Mohammed Ali Al-Azazi said in a post on his official Facebook account: “Taiz governorate, which is under the control of the “legitimate government”, has the strangest dark electricity in the world.”
He added: “The electricity provided by pro-coalition government has been cut off for nine years and the public network of the state is working and invested by commercial companies, in addition to that the price of one kilowatt reaches 1000 riyals in the city and the countryside, which are under the control of coalition, while the price of the one kilowatt in Al-Hawban area, which is under the control of Sanaa forces reaches 300 riyals.”
It is noteworthy that Taiz governorate owns a steam power station located in the Mocha district, which is under the control of mercenary leader Tariq Afash, and if it is put into operation, it will cover the entire governorate in addition to the governorates of Lahj and a number of districts of Hodeida.
