STC strikes deal with US in exchange for return of Al-Zoubaidi

ADEN, July 22 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced  that it had made a deal with the US that led to the return of its president, Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi, to the southern city of Aden.

Spokesman for the Fourth Military Region, Maher Al-Halimi, said in a Facebook post that “the US ambassador arrived yesterday to Al-Ma’ashiq Palace by helicopter to take a number of detainees wanted by America, including senior leaders.

He pointed to “the STC’s demand from the US side to support its forces and give them the green light to control Wadi Hadramout.”

According to al-Halimi, “the ambassador said that he would convey the STC’s demands to the US leadership.”
