121 people killed in Saada traffic accidents

SAADA, July. 20 (YPA) – About 654 people were killed and injured as a result of traffic accidents in Saada province during the past year 1444 AH.

A statistic issued by the province’s traffic police department stated that 121 people were killed and 533 others injured – most of them seriously – as a result of 548 traffic accidents.
The statistics indicated that the accidents caused material losses estimated at 678 million Yemeni riyals.

It attributed the causes of traffic accidents to excessive speed, drivers’ neglect of maintenance, and non-compliance with traffic rules.
