Imposing levies, royalties transport trucks lead to rise good, food prices in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, July 20 (YPA) – Economic and Media Center for Studies revealed reasons for the rise in prices in Hadramout governorate, eastern Yemen, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.

The illegal levies and royalties imposed by the UAE-backed factions on transport trucks at their various military checkpoints have contributed to a threefold increase in the prices of goods, the center said, noting that they doubled the suffering of citizens in the province.

These illegal levies hinder the performance of the private sector in the province and create a repellent environment for them, according to local media outlets affiliated with the coalition.

The coalition-funded factions impose huge sums on truck drivers carrying merchants’ goods, some of which exceeded one million riyals since they left the gate of the port of Aden and passing through their points.
