Sanaa government in Hodeida officially receives “Nautica” ship

SANAA, July. 17 (YPA) – Sanaa government officially received on Monday in Hodeida province the ship “Nautica”, an alternative to the Safer floating tank, which is located approximately 4.8 nautical miles off the coast of Yemen.

“Today, the ownership of the ship is transferred to the Republic of Yemen represented by the Safer Company, and the transfer of raw materials in the floating tank Safer to the replacement ship begins,” the Minister of Transport in Sanaa, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, said in a news statement.

Al-Durra stressed the need for the periodic maintenance of this ship to continue so that the problem that occurred with the Safer floating oil tank does not repeat.

For his part, Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi praised all efforts that contributed to the arrival of an alternative ship.

Al-Ezzi called on the international community to continue efforts to reach a radical solution to the issue of the floating reservoir, or to achieve sustainable maintenance during the war.

In turn, the General Manager of Safer Company, Eng. Idris Al-Shami, said: “Today we are launching the basic step to get rid of an environmental threat that threatens marine life, fishing and navigation in the region as a whole.”
