Abu Bakr Ba’Obaid: Merchants left Aden and found a suitable environment for them in Hodeida port

ADEN, July 17 (YPA) -Chairman of Aden’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abu Bakr Ba’Obaid, revealed that the largest segment of traders left Aden Governorate, and transferred their activities to the port of Hodeida. Stressing that traders have found the right environment for them there.

Ba’Obaid said in an interview with Hona Aden radio that the Chamber of Commerce communicated with merchants before Eid al-Adha, but most of them told the Aden Chamber of Commerce that they had moved their activities to Hodeida and that they would no longer deal with the Chamber of Commerce in Aden.

He added, “There is no state or government in Aden and what is happening is very dangerous, pointing out that the Chamber of Commerce did not find any government party to talk to.”

The Chamber of Commerce is unable to control matters at all levels, he said, explaining that it has communicated with all parties, but to no avail.

He added, “the chamber had warned in previous times of the seriousness of practices that harmed the commercial sector.”

He expressed despair at the situation.

Ba’Obaid explained that the current situation in Aden lacks the most basic elements of the state, warning of a total collapse.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce in Aden said that he can’t reassure people or send them a message of reassurance.

He accused pro-coalition officials and state leaders of not exercising their duties properly.”

Ba’Obaid denied the Chamber of Commerce’s connection to the price hike.

He pointed out that prices of  food  continue to rise amid the complete absence of the pro-coalition  government, calling on the coalition to intervene to save the state of collapse.
