Sanaa declares arresting UAE-run criminal cell

SANAA, July. 13 (YPA) – Spokesman for the Ministry of Interior in Sanaa, Brigadier General Abdul Khaliq Al-Ajri, declared on Thursday thwarting the intelligence plans and the arrest of members of a UAE-backed criminal cell in Sanaa province.

The spokesman said in a news statement that the security services managed to foil the criminal operations that aimed at destabilizing security and stability and disturbing the public tranquility.

“The cell was arrested after being assigned to monitor, collect information and upload coordinates about military and security leaders and prominent figures from the anti-war components on Yemen, as well as targeting sensitive places and military sites in the Supreme Political Council-held areas, by sending an intelligence agency of the Emirati state explosive substances and sums of money for the accused cell field official, Ali Mohammed Hussein Al-Shazbi,” Al-Ajri stated.

The statement confirmed that the security services are still following up on the case’s procedures until everyone involved in treason and criminal acts is brought to justice.

The ministry’s statement called on all those who were involved and dealt with the enemy’s intelligence to take the initiative to surrender themselves to the justice agencies.
