STC president attacks pro-coalition government

ADEN, July 10 (YPA) -The President of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, on Monday attacked the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition.

During a meeting with the US Ambassador to pro- coalition  government, Stephen Fagen, al-Zubaidi affirmed that “the government has become unable to carry out the tasks entrusted to it to revive the economic situation and provide services to citizens.”

The economic situation in the southern and eastern provinces, is at risk of collapse, Al-Zubaidi said.

He called on the coalition countries and the international community to address the humanitarian situation in those areas.

Al-Zubaidi attributed  the reasons for the continuous collapse in the price of the local currency against foreign currencies with “the continued suspension of oil exports.”

The meeting reviewed the so-called “efforts to secure international shipping lines in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden and possible ways to enhance their role with the American side.
