Swedish Muslims condemn burning of Holy Quran copy

STOCKHOLM, July 10 (YPA) – The Swedish capital, Stockholm, witnessed on Monday a demonstration to denounce the burning of copies of the Holy Quran in the country, which sparked a widespread condemnation.

The demonstration was organized by many Islamic associations and organizations in Sweden, and about 500 people participated in it. They called on the Swedish authorities to prevent provocations targeting the Holy Quran.

The Swedish authorities’ permission to burn the Quran was met with widespread condemnation in the Arab and Islamic worlds. Arab countries summoned Sweden’s ambassadors to protest, and Morocco summoned its ambassador to Sweden for an indefinite period in response to the burning of the Quran.
