Muscat, Cairo call for political settlement in Yemen
OMAN, Feb. 5 (YPA) – Sultan of Oman Sayyid Qaboos bin Said Al Said and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called for concerted efforts by the international community to reach a political settlement to crises of some countries in the region, especially in Yemen, according to a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency.
OMAN, Feb. 5 (YPA) – Sultan of Oman Sayyid Qaboos bin Said Al Said and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called for concerted efforts by the international community to reach a political settlement to crises of some countries in the region, especially in Yemen, according to a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency.
The move came during the first official visit of the Egyptian president to the Sultanate of Oman,since he took office in June 2014.
Sultan Qaboos read a statement, showing that he has “a vision to solve the Yemeni crisis and ways to alleviate the daily suffering of the Yemeni people..”
Meanwhile, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement on Sunday that the talks between Sisi and Qaboos “touched on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.”
The officials also talked about other issues, such as Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.
