“FAO” issues new flood warnings for Yemen

SANAA, July 06 (YPA) – The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has issued a new warning about the risk of flooding in Yemen this July.

The “FAO” projected severe rainfall in the Yemeni provinces of Dhamar, Ibb, Dhalea, Lahj, and Taiz this month in a recent report.

According to the organization’s report, Yemen had torrential rains in last June, resulting in disastrous floods that forced scores of people into poverty.

The FAO has cautioned that moderate floods in the aforementioned provinces might harm around 1,500 people, thus caution is urged.
