Al-Qaeda targets “Shabwa Defense Forces” in Al-Saeed district

ABYAN, July 01 (YPA) – Al-Qaeda militants carried out attacks on sites of the UAE-backed fictions in Shabwa province, southeast Yemen, informed sources said on late Friday.

According to the sources, the attack, which followed by heavy gunfire targeted “Shabwa Defense Forces” in al-Saeed district.

A few days ago, al-Qaeda admitted of launching drone strikes and armed operations against UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions in Abyan and Shabwa provinces.

The group claimed responsibility for blowing up three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Abyan province, killing Jaber bin Abdul Qawi al-Faha al-Yafei and wounding 7 others in Mudiyah district in southern Yemen’s Abyan province.
