STC announces confrontation with “Hadramout Council”

HADRAMOUT, June 24 (YAP) – The UAE-baked Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced on Friday that it will confront the Hadramout Council by announcing a new component in Wadi Hadramout, eastern Yemen.

The STC declared the “Nahd Transitional Forum” in the city of al-Qatn  in Wadi Hadramout, which aims to put an end to what was described as “unilateral political moves by the former regime in Riyadh.”

The announcement of the “Nahd Transitional Forum” comes two days after Saudi Arabia declared last Tuesday the “Hadramout Council” and the transfer of the Hadrami delegation on board a military plane of the Royal Air Force to the airport of the city of Seiyun, the center of Hadramout, last Thursday evening.

Observers believe that the announcement of the new component confirms that the STC is heading to push the tribesmen loyal to it in Wadi Hadramout to engage in confrontations with the forces of the “First Military Region” loyal to Islah after Saudi Arabia thwarted armed mobilizations towards the valley directorates.

Supporters of the STC considered the “Hadramout Council” as an illegitimate component, which does not represent the people of the province, as it was announced from the “Riyadh hotels”, as they described it.
