6.4 magnitude earthquake hits Gulf of California

WORLD, June 19 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck the US Gulf of California on Sunday, The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported

Mexico’s civil defense office confirmed that there were no immediate reports of damage in areas where people felt the quake, but recommended boats and nearby coastal residents to take precautions due to possible currents in ports.

The EMSC said the quake occurred at a depth of ten kilometers.

There were no tsunami warnings.
