Saudi forces torture Yemeni citizen to death at border

SANAA, June 19 (YPA) – The Ministry of Human Rights of the Sanaa government on Sunday strongly condemned the crime committed by the Saudi authorities against Yemeni citizens in the border areas, which resulted in the death of citizen Muhammad Ahmed Ali Saad al-Qibli, 31, and the injury of others.

In a press release, the ministry denounced the United Nations silence on the continued crimes of the Saudi regime against Yemenis in the border areas, although this crime was preceded by similar crimes.

The ministry stated that members of the Saudi army arrested three citizens from Jabal Harbi, Al-Ardah road, on the border adjacent to Razih district of Saada province, and took them to one of its military centers, physically assaulting and torturing them with all brutal means.

The press release indicated that members of the Saudi army did not respond to the pleas of al-Qibli’s colleagues to provide him with first aid, indicating that the Saudi army transferred al-Qibli’s body and his two companions to the area from which they were arrested.

It pointed out that the al-Qibli’s companions were unable to deliver the body of al-Qibli to his family because they were targeted by the Saudi troops with live bullets, which forced them to flee under a hail of gunfire, leaving their colleague’ body in the same area.

The ministry called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and international organizations affiliated with the United Nations to intervene quickly by delivering the body of Al-Qibli to his family and to put pressure on the Saudi regime to stop its systematic crimes against Yemenis at the border areas.
