LAHJ, June 18 (YPA) – لإhe UAE-supported Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s armed elements attacked and destroyed a shelter for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Lahj province, southern Yemen.
Human rights sources in the province reported that the STC militias stormed a camp for the IDPs in Atira area of Al-Waht district, indicating that the armed elements destroyed the shelter of the IDPs, including tents and wood.
The source confirmed that the attack on the camp came days after they were transferred from Al-Baytra area of Al-Fayoush, adjacent to the city of Aden.
They indicated that the storming of the camp, which is inhabited by many people from the northern provinces, came after regional incitement campaigns led by the STC activists during the past weeks.
Meanwhile, the IDPs called on human rights organizations and the United Nations to provide the safe shelters and to condemn the violations committed against them.
