Meteorology expects varying rains within coming hours

SANAA, June 16 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology is expected rain of varying intensity in various provinces during the next 24 hours.

The center said in its weather bulletin on Friday that rainfall may fall on parts of Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Rayma, Dhamar, Sanaa, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Saada, and Jawf.

The rains may extend to include parts of the inner plateaus of Lahj, Abyan, Bayda, Shabwa, Hadramout and Mahra province.

According to the center, the weather may be hot during the day, with the maximum temperatures ranging between 40-44 degrees Celsius in the deserts and inland plateaus, and 36-40 degrees Celsius in the coastal areas.

It pointed to the possibility of high-speed winds blowing around the Socotra archipelago, reaching more than 35 knots, with moderate winds ranging between 12-25 knots on the western coasts, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the southern and eastern coasts.

The center warned citizens against being in the stomachs of valleys and torrential passages in areas where rain expected.

It called on motorists to drive carefully on mountain roads because low horizontal visibility during rain.
