STC factions establish new collection point for levies in Aden

ADEN, June 16 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions have created over the past few days a new point for collecting royalties at the entrance to Aden city, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.

Local sources reported on Thursday that the STC factions set up the new point to collect exorbitant royalties from trucks in the Al-Rabat area, amounting to more than 30,000 riyals, under the name of “office and inspection service.”

The sources mocked the receipt vouchers titled “A comprehensive line for services and transportation” without following an official body, except that they impose sums of money on trucks leaving Aden towards the northern provinces.

The levies and royalties of the STC factions have spread to constitute an additional burden on merchants, which negatively affects the prices of citizens’ consumer goods in the southern provinces.
