WORLDS, June 07 (YPA) – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) during a meeting in Jeddah on Tuesday-Wednesday night, several files, including normalization with the Israeli occupation, a US official said.
The official told media on condition of anonymity that they discussed the possibility of normalizing relations with Israel and agreed to continue dialogue in this regard.”
The talks also touched on the war in Sudan, where the United States and Saudi Arabia, leading joint mediation, have failed to force the parties to the conflict to abide by the truces they agree to and then violate.
The US official pointed out that the two men held “open and frank talks that covered various regional and bilateral issues”
He added that Blinken raised during the meeting the file of “human rights in both parts: the general part and those related to specific issues.”
For his part, US state department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the two men “affirmed their shared commitment to advance stability, security, and prosperity across the Middle East and beyond” during the meeting.
The US secretary arrived in Jeddah on Tuesday evening. The visit aimed at improving relations between Washington and Riyadh.
