Flights at Hodeida Airport resume after eight-year break

HODEIDA, June 06 (YPA) – First Undersecretary of Hodeida province, Ahmed Al-Bashri, and a team from the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA), visited on Tuesday Hodeida airport and were informed on its state and efforts to ready it for operation after an eight-year hiatus.

During the visit, Al-Bishri and the UN mission team listened to an explanation from the airport director, Ahmed Tarish, and the specialists about the procedures that were taken for the landing and take-off of the first plane scheduled to arrive tomorrow, June 7, since the Saudi-led coalition aircraft targeted the airport before eight years.

Informed sources said that a plane would arrive at the airport in a test flight coming from Djibouti as part of the logistical preparations to rescue the floating oil tank “Safer”, which requires the presence of a plane with the team.
