Issuance of passports stopped in areas controlled by pro-coalition government

ADEN, June 04 (YPA) – The process of issuing passports in areas controlled by the Saudi-led coalition government stopped on Sunday due to disputes over revenues between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance.

Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, the minister of foreign affairs in the pro-coalition government, issued directives to stop issuing passports until further notice, according to media sources in the Immigration and Passports Authority in Aden.

The sources pointed out that the minister of finance in the pro-coalition government formed a special committee to manage passport revenues, which was rejected by bin Mubarak, whose ministry acquires the revenues.
