ADEN, June 01 (YPA) – The pro-UAE Southern Transitional Council (STC) faced on Thursday a new threat to Saudi Arabia.
This came at a time when Riyadh mobilizing to legitimize the separation of Hadramout, the most important oil-rich province in eastern Yemen.
Mohammed al-Ghaithi, the head of foreign affairs of the STC, indicated that the Western ambassadors’ talk about the Yemeni unity threatens the of the Saudi-formed Presidential Council unity, referring to the Council’s withdrawal from it.
“No agreement has yet been reached on a political framework for the joint authority, which was based on the principle of Partnership only,” he said on Twitter.
Al-Ghaithi had commented on the declaration of the ambassadors of the European Union countries to support the vision of the Hadramout’s factions loyal to Saudi Arabia for the province’s secession backed strongly by Saudi Arabia. The STC rejected the Saudi support, considering Hadramout part of its state in the south.
