Pro-coalition military official killed in unknown circumstances in Marib

MARIB, May 23 (YPA) – A senior military official loyal to Saudi-led coalition was killed on Tuesday amid attempts to conceal the circumstances of his liquidation in Marib, Yemen News Portal reported.

The tribal Sheikh Alawi Al-Basha bin Zabaa revealed the death of Brigadier Saleh Ali Al-Quh, Staff officer of the 101st Infantry Brigade and assistant commander of the sixth military region, pointing out that Al-Quh died in the hospital due to of injuries he sustained.

Pro-Islah media had earlier reported that al-Quh had died of what they described as a terminal illness.

Saleh Ali Al-Quh is one of the military commanders was instated by Saghir bin Aziz, the chief of the general staff in the government loyal to coalition, on the command of the sixth military region affiliated with Islah in Jawf province.

There were conflicting reports regarding the circumstances of al-Quh’s death. Some of the reports indicate that he was liquidated, like many high-ranking officers who were killed in operations whose motives were not disclosed amid mutual accusations between the two poles of the conflict over the city.

During the past few days, Marib witnessed fierce battles between tribal gunmen supported by the General People’s Congress (GPC) and others loyal to Islah and Sultan Al-Arada, in which drones were used in the fighting.
