Meteorology warns residents of heavy rain, thunderstorms

SANAA, May 21 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology warned on Saturday residents of heavy rain and thunderstorms in various provinces of Yemen.

In its daily weather bulletin, the center expected heavy rains would prevail over the provinces of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Mahweet, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, Rayma, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, and Lahj, in addition to the coasts of Hadramout and Mahra and the heights of Abyan and Shabwa.

It called on citizens in rainy areas not to be in the water ways and the stomachs of valleys during and after the rains.

The center also warned against a decrease in the range of horizontal visibility on mountainous roads during rain and fog formation.
