WORLD, May 18 (YPA) – Li Hui, China’s special representative for Eurasian Affairs, said after holding negotiations in Kiev that there is no magic medicine to resolve the Ukraine crisis, and that all parties should create conditions for peace talks.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday that Li Hui visited Ukraine on May 16-17, where he met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, his chief of staff Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, as well as senior officials from the ministries of defense, energy and infrastructure.
According to the statement, the two sides exchanged views on the issue of the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and China-Ukraine relations.
“China is willing to promote the international community to form the greatest common denominator for resolving the Ukrainian crisis, and make its own efforts to stop the fighting and (establish a) ceasefire and restore peace as soon as possible,” the statement said.
“China has always played a constructive role in alleviating the humanitarian situation in Ukraine in its own way and will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine within its capacity,” it added.
